Diary of Knitting Shenanagins
If you know me well enough, you know that I often find myself in what one could only describe as Shenanigans. Here are my stories as they relate to knitting, yarn and all the other things in-between.
Self Care is Knitting and Knitting is Self Care
The past two weeks for me have been....well...a mess. A hot mess. A hot mess express. And I am the conductor of this train. CHOO CHOO! ALL ABOARD! Now that we are all on the same expressway to the land of yarn and needles, I wanted to talk about how this train got started. My family and I got back from vacation to find out that the compressor in our refrigerator was not working and our 3 year old fridge was not worth fixing. Fabulous, right? Totally! This was the first st

Knitting, Travel and Shenanigans
Greetings from the Volunteer State! As many of you know, I am on vacation in my favorite place this week - Tennessee. My family and I have been coming down here to vacation for the better part of a decade, if not longer. The picture above was taken by our cabin rental as I was out walking my dog. I got to watch the sunrise over the Smokey Mountains. Pure Bliss! We started our trip by heading to music city - Nashville. One of my husband's best friends lives out there so he w

You can AMAZE, AMAZE, AMAZE yourself with your knitting skills.
It is a very rare occurrence for me to go to the movies. As many of you know, I am not much of a TV or movie person. That, combined with inflation, going to the movies has become rather pricey. And we all know that I would rather spend my money on yarn, needles, patterns and all things knitting related. However, when my husband asked me to go see the new movie Project Hail Mary, I jumped at the opportunity. Project Hail Mary is a book written by Andy Weir that was made int

Let the Ordinary Become the Joy You Give to Others 🧶
If you have talked to me in the last several weeks, you will know that I have been fully invested in making a friend of mine 10 Curling hats. What is a curling hat? Great question! As you know, the Winter Olympics ended at the end of February. One of the sports that is included is Curling. You know, when they do an extended lunge and then slide a big stone down the ice while a bunch of people with tiny brooms help it move along? Yea, that one. Well, my friend has requested to

Buy the Yarn. The Inspiration Will Follow! 🧶
March 9, 2026 As some of you know, I recently celebrated my birthday. I survived another year around the sun and to celebrate that accomplishment, I treated myself to a trip to Wonderland Yarns in Brattleboro, VT. And let me tell you, just like Alice, I fell down a rabbit hole. Well, I did not actually fall. Although based on the fact that I was born with two left feel and the grace of a drunk donkey, I fall quite often. I mean, have you seen my right arm lately? But I dig

Don't Let Knitting Side Quests Stand in Your Way!
February 15, 2026 Recently, a coworker of mine at my day told me that she loved listening to my adventures in knitting. She called them my "Side Quests". I absolutely loved this as I often feel as though my adventures are quests because I am always in some sort of pickle. Just not the dill kind. My most recent adventure was to Vogue Knitting Live! in NYC. This event did not disappoint! I was only there for 1 day and I wish I had been able to stay the entire weekend. It was
