MY STORY
I began knitting when I was about fourteen, one quiet summer afternoon, when my mother asked my sister and me if we wanted to learn. From that very moment, I fell in love with the craft—and I’ve never looked back.

Over the past two+ decades, I’ve honed my skills and developed the ability to create just about anything I set my mind to. One of my greatest joys is bringing someone else’s vision to life. When a client says, “I drew this—can you make it?” I gladly take on the challenge and transform their idea into something tangible and wearable.

One of the questions I’m asked most often is about the name of my business. When I was a little girl, my grandmother—whom I miss dearly—used to say I resembled a brunette Mia Farrow and affectionately called me “Mia.” She was a strong, inspiring woman, and I strive to carry that same strength into everything I create. My work spans a wide range of styles and techniques, from intarsia sweaters and cable-knit mittens to Fair Isle hats and beyond. I often hear, “Can you knit this?”—and from those moments of curiosity and creativity, my business was born.

After learning as much as possible from amazing knitting professionals such as Tanis Gray, Fiona Ellis, Nina Machlin-Dayton, and other, I sought to begin teaching others. Teaching has become one of the most meaningful parts of my knitting journey. There is something incredibly special about watching someone’s confidence grow as they learn new skills and discover what their hands are capable of creating. Whether I’m guiding a beginner through their very first stitches or helping a more experienced knitter tackle a challenging technique, I love breaking the process down and making it approachable, encouraging, and fun. Sharing this craft with others allows me to pass along not just skills, but the same joy, patience, and creativity that knitting has given me.

My hope is that my knitting brings as much joy to others as it has brought to me.
